Welcome to 2021
Tidewater Integrated Cyber Symposium (TWICS)!

The AFCEA Tidewater Chapter, in concert with NDIA Hampton Roads, has taken into consideration the Federal and DOD guidelines regarding the current COVID-19 global health crisis.  Due to the DOD-implemented travel restrictions through mid-May.  We have postponed the event of TWICS (2020), venue & vendors, to next year.

The new date is now 3 – 6 MAY 2021. 

Currently, the Chapter is continuing event planning & will advise the community any and all information regarding this event.  

The theme for TWICS 2021 is "Cyber Operations in Multi-Domain Warfare”.
 

You will be provided access and insight to the senior leader's perspective on current
developments in cyberspace and transforming to multi-domain warfare operations
strategically with future military cyber and ISR operations battlespace challenges.

AFCEA Tidewater Chapter TWICS is envisioned as an annual event with a national
draw supporting the Government/military, industry, academic communities.
Expecting 2,500+ attendees at TWICS 2021.

TWICS 2021 will consist of three full days of expert panels, esteemed keynote speakers, acquisition updates; classified discussions, and continuing education training.

AFCEA is a non-profit organization that directly supports the idea exchange
between the Government/military, industry, and academic communities through
ethical dialogue, professional development, and educational opportunities.


The AFCEA Tidewater Chapter has made local and national impacts by providing
numerous scholarships and financial awards to students, school groups, and
teachers in support of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)
education.

White sails above the entrance to the Hampton Roads Convention Center provide a visual reminder of the first settlers to reach this area by sea over 400 years ago.

Today’s visitors to this impressive facility travel here for a variety of purposes; to share ideas, compete in athletic competitions, and introduce new products, just to name a few, in surroundings as inspirational as they are functional.

 

A model of flexibility, the center’s 344,000 square feet and 35 event spaces contain three exhibit halls, a multi-configurable grand ballroom, a conference center with private access and an enormous amount of pre-function area.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION

The airport is approximately 30 minutes' drive from the hotel (Newport News or Norfolk), depending on traffic flow and the time of day. The hotel does not have a shuttle bus that runs to the airport. An average cab ride costs approximately $25+, and there are numerous car rental and other ground transportation options to choose from at the Newport News and Norfolk Airport.

BLUF 2: SAVE THE DATE: The Inaugural TWICS 2021, is tentatively scheduled for 3 - 6 May 2021.
 
All,
Due to the impacts of COVID-19, the Tidewater Integrated Cyber Symposium (TWICS) 2020 is postponed to 2021.   
Currently, the local press is stating the venue is being planned for a regional hospital so, the Chapter and venue are trying to be proactive in our event deconflict with the intentions of the Federal and State governments.  Further, postponing in 2020 might have impacted other AFCEA AF-centric chapter events and AFITC.
 
Current Event Sponsor options are:
 
-          Designate your sponsorship for TWICS 2021.
-          Convert your TWICS sponsorship to an appropriate longer-term chapter sponsorship.
-          Refund of your sponsorship/attendance.
-          Donate your sponsorship to the Chapter to be used as part of our STEM programs/initiatives.
